Truth, Freedom & the cycle of birth and death

four-ground / back-ground

Where's the thin blue line between ability and disability, who is taking extra care to understand one's dismay with the scapegoats? We don't merely publish beliefs, we take into account ideological contradictions and use doubt and skepticism to invigorate our spirits.

C. G. Jung (CW 14, par. 709): "In general, meditation and contemplation have a bad reputation in the West. They are regarded as a particularly reprehensible form of idleness or as pathological narcissism. No one has time for self-knowledge or believes that it could serve any sensible purpose. Also, one knows in advance that it is not worth the trouble to know oneself, for any fool can know what he is. We believe exclusively in doing and do not ask about the doer, who is judged only by achievements that have collective value. The general public seems to have taken cognizance of the existence of the unconscious psyche more than the so-called experts, but still nobody has drawn any conclusions from the fact that Western man confronts himself as a stranger and that self-knowledge is one of the most difficult and exacting of the arts."

When you split the difference with someone, you agree on an amount or price which is halfway between two suggested amounts or prices. Shall we split the difference and say $____ for a what? A Camera? A guitar effects pedal? An individuals Time? A guitar amp? Don't split the difference. The more you ask for top dollar, the more NEW and flawless it has to be. No one pays top dollar for something that appears broken or flawed in a way that would require added expense.

Folie à deux. The weapon, the missile delivery system that "they" use.... what is it? A sob-story.... "how could you do this to us!" They use this sob story against you, to manipulate. You feel sorry for them, and you won't leave them, and you won't kick them out, because of the sob story, because their sob story makes you feel guilty.
